Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1 Arusha to Tarangire

   Your guide collects you for the drive to Tarangire. Enjoy lunch at camp and an afternoon game drive among elephants and baobabs.

2. Day2 Tarangire to Lake Manyara and Karatu

   Take a morning game drive, then continue to Lake Manyara for the forest and lake shore. Overnight at a boutique lodge in the Karatu highlands.

3. Day3 Fly to the Serengeti

   Fly from the Lake Manyara airstrip to the central Serengeti (about 45 minutes), with a game drive on the way to your camp.

4. Day4 Balloon flight and full day in the Serengeti

   Float over the plains at sunrise in a hot-air balloon, followed by a champagne bush breakfast. Spend the rest of the day on a private game drive.

5. Day5 Serengeti to Ngorongoro rim

   Take a morning game drive, fly back to the Lake Manyara airstrip, and drive up to your luxury lodge on the Ngorongoro rim for sunset over the caldera.

6. Day6 Ngorongoro Crater and flight to Zanzibar

   Descend into the crater at first light for a private game drive with breakfast on the crater floor. Drive to Arusha (about 4 hours) and take an evening flight to Zanzibar, where you are met and transferred to your hotel in Stone Town.

7. Day7 Stone Town and spice farm

   Take a guided walk through Stone Town's alleys, markets, carved doors and waterfront, then visit a spice farm to taste and smell the island's famous cloves, vanilla and cinnamon. Transfer to your beach resort.

8. Day8 Beach day

   Relax by the water or choose an optional excursion: a dhow cruise at sunset, snorkelling at Mnemba or a visit to Jozani Forest to see red colobus monkeys.

9. Day9 Free day on the coast

   Enjoy the resort, a spa treatment or an optional diving or kite-surfing session. Dinner on the beach is available on request.
